Learn More About Our Key Features

At Firewheel Christian Academy, we are committed to providing a robust and Christ-centered academic experience. To achieve this, we proudly utilize curriculum from two highly respected Christian publishers: Abeka and Bob Jones University (BJU) Press.
We understand the importance of preparing students not only for high school but for lifelong learning and success in an ever-changing world. That's why we continually assess and refine our curriculum to ensure our students are well-equipped to compete academically and confidently pursue their future endeavors.
Both Abeka and BJU Press curricula are renowned for their Christian-based foundation and phonics-driven approach to reading.
The Abeka Difference: Building Strong Foundations
Abeka is celebrated for its traditional, proven approach to education, emphasizing:
Systematic Phonics: A thorough and effective method for teaching reading, spelling, and writing from an early age.
Comprehensive Subjects: Integrated learning across all core subjects (Language Arts, Math, Science, History, Bible), ensuring a consistent and reinforcing educational experience.
Biblical Worldview Integration: Every subject is taught through a biblical lens, helping students develop a strong Christian worldview that informs their understanding of the world.
Structured Learning: A clear, sequential, and teacher-directed framework that helps students master concepts thoroughly through spiral review and consistent reinforcement.
The BJU Press Approach: Fostering Critical Thinking
BJU Press curriculum is designed to promote academic rigor and foster deep understanding, focusing on:
Critical Thinking and Discernment: Encouraging students to analyze, evaluate, and synthesize information, rather than just memorize facts, preparing them to think for themselves from a biblical perspective.
Biblical Worldview Shaping: Consistently integrating biblical principles and a Christian worldview into all academic disciplines, demonstrating the relevance of God's Word to every subject.
Engaging Content: With a focus on real-world application, hands-on learning, and stimulating questions, BJU Press makes learning dynamic and impactful.
Academic Excellence: Designed to challenge students at appropriate academic levels, building a solid academic foundation that prepares them for higher education.
By thoughtfully combining the strengths of both Abeka and BJU Press, Firewheel Christian Academy provides a rich, comprehensive curriculum that nurtures intellectual growth, strong academic skills, and a deeply rooted Christian faith in every student.
