Firewheel Christian Academy Early Education is dedicated to ministering to children 6 months through 3 years and their families. FCA Early Education is not a daycare. The mission of FCA Early Education is to provide ministry to children and their families by providing a safe, loving environment, maintaining quality leadership, utilizing developmentally appropriate material and activities, and interacting with the community.

Goals & Objectives

The goals of FCA Early Education are:

  • To provide a safe, loving environment for children
  • To teach children about God and His Son, Jesus Christ
  • To offer stimulating opportunities for creative play
  • To develop social skills through adult and peer interaction

Licensing

FCA Early Education is licensed by Texas Department of Childcare Licensing. We exceed the minimum standards required by the state for this licensing.

Facilities

FCA Early Education provides a wonderful nursery, toddler and preschool facility. Each classroom is bright and cheery, inviting children to have fun. FCA Early Education offers an age-appropriate playground where motor skills can be developed.

Staff

The teaching staff is highly qualified. In order to provide loving care, individual attention and instruction, each teacher and staff member must receive 24 hours of early childcare educational training and have CPR certification. For more information, please call (972) 530-1614. You can also email Becky Walden at bwalden@firewheelca.org or Joyce Agnes at jagnes@firewheelca.org.

Our preschool teachers are highly trained in early education and maintain continuing education throughout each year.  FCA recognizes that the preschool years are an important transitional period for students moving to formal education.  Therefore, we take pride in providing a quality educational experience coupled with a loving atmosphere geared towards young learners.

Fall Program – August through May

For children 6 months through 3 years – FCA Early Education is based on a developmental philosophy in which play is considered to be a child’s most important job. Through play, children experience the world around them. We provide a large variety of play experiences for the children through outdoor activities, books, music, art, exploration and investigative opportunities.

Curriculum

Children are by nature curious individuals and the staff works very hard at developing curriculum that will stimulate and offer a wide variety of discoveries for your child. Age appropriate learning activities are a part of the daily program for all children. Physical and emotional needs are considered along with developing basic skills for responsible living in our society.

Through motivation and imagination, children develop concepts of size, color, texture, numbers, etc. Creative activities (using paint, clay, crayons, fabric, paste, etc.) not only develop the child’s motor control but also give him/her a sense of achievement and pride in his/her work. The use of music, finger plays and exercising to music develop coordination and motor control within group activities. Playtime incorporates many learning activities.

By utilizing preschool concepts, Bible truths, music, interactive play and enrichment activities, we strive to provide a solid foundation for future learning experiences. Our teachers incorporate the above activities in the time they spend with the children. In this manner we are able to provide quality learning situations. We believe that in this way we are better able to minister to the developmental needs of children.

Summer Camp – June 5th through July 28th

For children 6 months through completed 6th Grade “I’m bored!” “There’s nothing to do.” – If your children make these statements in the summer, then FCA is the place for them. FCA offers an 8-week summer program for children 6 months to completed 6th grade. In addition to weekly program activities, summer camp also includes activities like splash days and field trips for older children.
